Client: An's Dry Cleaning
Inspiration for this one-of-a-kind gelato shop came directly from the existing building. Built in 1934, the space was previously home to a long-standing neighborhood dry-cleaning facility, by the name of An’s. The owners of the new 750 square foot gelato shop desired to pay homage to what stood before with everything including the shop’s name.
Fresh exterior signage looks as if it should have been there all along. The Art Deco details of the building exterior were carried indoors, dictating the style and color scheme and influencing menu signage. There is a traditional “dry cleaner’s” front desk complete with hanging rod, and an inventive sorbet colored light fixture application.
ACI ensured all the pieces came together with thorough coordination of the project by working with all project team members to see the design vision come to life with construction documents and movement through the permitting process.
